In light of another rough Martin Perez outing, Rangers faced with decision on future of pitching rotation

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- In 10 days, the pool of playoff-eligible players will be frozen to what clubs have in their organization.

The Rangers must decide if they are comfortable heading toward the playoffs with what increasingly looks like a two-man rotation: Cole Hamels and Yu Darvish.

Are the Rangers willing to have the inconsistent Martin Perez as the No. 3 starter for the stretch drive and, according to the play, a post-season series?

Or will they make one more big and bold move before the Aug, 31 deadline? What if a front-ending starting pitcher, such as Minnesota's Ervin Santana, pops up on the waiver wire this week?
