OAKLAND, Calif. - Here are the facts: Colby Lewis did not make it out of the second inning Sunday; his post-DL ERA soared to 9.75; he has now given up almost as many walks as strikeouts since his return and almost as many home runs as walks.
And, as he tries to make a late-season bid for the playoff rotation, the Rangers counted the day as progress.
"There were still a lot of positives for me today," manager Jeff Banister said after Lewis allowed all the runs in Oakland's 7-1 win. "He came out of it clean and the arm felt good.
