The Brewers, fresh off losing a series to the Cincinnati Reds at home, came to Arlington tonight and beat the American League West champs in only the second most insurable thing on television this evening.
With the loss, the Rangers no longer have the best record in the American League. With Boston getting the night off, the Rangers now trail the Red Sox in the race for home field through the playoffs by a half game with just five games to play.
The Rangers, on paper, had the advantage in the home field race as they play two bad teams at home to end the season but the Rangers don't seem capable of beating bad teams consistently for some reason so now, were the season to end as it is now, the Rangers would open the playoffs against the Cleveland Indians in Arlington.
