This offensive line group figures to be one of the strengths of this team in 2016. Tackle Connor Williams and guard Patrick Vahe both emerged as stars last season as true freshman and return as preseason All-Big 12 selections for 2016. They solidified their interior line by moving senior Kent Perkins, the strongest player on the roster, from tackle to guard for this season.
While the team knew what role these three would play this season, there were questions about the other two spots on the line. Prior to signing day, Texas had no clear successor at center and right tackle was up in the air.
