Just hours after landing an explosive slot receiver, the Longhorns lost one.
Four-star Florida wide receiver Justin Watkins backed out of his verbal pledge to Texas on the heels of Rondale Moore's commitment on Sunday.
He announced his decision via Twitter.
Watkins originally flipped from Florida State to Texas in February. He was also previously committed to LSU.
At 5-foot-11, 172 pounds, Watkins is ranked as the No. 7 wide receiver in the country and No. 7 overall prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports Composite.
Texas now has 11 commits in its 2018 class.
