Chuck Carlton picks College Football Awards winners: Will D'Onta Foreman take the Doak Walker trophy?

D'Onta Foreman won't match Ricky Williams -- the only other 2,000-yard single-season rusher in Texas history -- by winning the Heisman Trophy.

While the junior running back failed to land an invite to New York as one of five Heisman finalists, he is positioned to match Williams by winning the Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back. Foreman is one of three finalists, along with Florida State's Dalvin Cook and San Diego State's Donnel Pumphrey.

The Doak Walker winner will be announced Thursday at the Home Depot College Football Awards (6 p.m., ESPN) from Atlanta.
