Four-star safety Brandon Jones announced his commitment to the Texas Longhorns over the Texas A&M Aggies and Baylor Bears. Carter announced his decision on ESPNU.
Jones is the No. 40 overall player and the top ranked safety in the class of 2016 on 247Sports composite rankings. He's No. 6 player from the state of Texas.
The head coaches from all three of Jones' final schools paid him in-home visits over the weekend. Texas A&M was considered the leader for much of the process, with Baylor getting in the game late. Texas landing Jones was a big get for a program that's setting up for a big National Signing Day.
