Longhorn Headlines: Jacob Young Commits to Texas

Houston Yates guard Jacob Young is the first 2016 recruit to commit to Shaka Smart and the Texas program. Young could very well be stepping in for Isaiah Taylor in 2016 if Taylor chooses to leave after his junior year.

Young is ranked as the No. 15 point guard in the country and No. 7 overall prospect in the state, according to 247Sports Composite. He picked Texas over offers from Baylor and Duquesne.

Young’s decision comes just 10 days after receiving an offer from the Longhorns. He made two unofficial visits to Austin this month.
