3 Top 2016 Recruits Texas Can Still Land Before Signing Day

The Texas Longhorns reeled in a top recruiting class in 2015, but head coach Charlie Strong is poised to bring in more top prospects in 2016. Here are three top recruits that could sign with the Longhorns on Signing Day:

S Brandon Jones
As the No. 1 safety in the country, Jones has offers from every big time program in the nation, but the Longhorns are right in the mix, fighting with Texas A&M for his services. However, he is taking an official visit to Texas on Jan. 15, and hasn't been to Texas A&M since early December. The speedy prospect can make plays all over the field, and that will translate immediately to the next level.

S Deontay Anderson
Texas a making a strong push for the five-star safety, trying to take him away from Ole Miss, who are favorites to land him. He plans to take a official visit to Austin on Jan. 16, giving the in-state Longhorns a chance to make a last impression. Anderson is 6’1″ and 195 pounds, and plays a hard-hitting style that will serve him well at the next level.

OLB Jeffrey McCulloch
McCullough is ranked as the No. 7 outside linebacker in the country, and the Longhorns are the favorites to land him. At 6'3" and 230 pounds, he has the size, speed, and athleticism to be the perfect partner next to Malik Jefferson in Texas' young linebacker core. He will take an official visit to Texas on Jan. 15, and another to Alabama on Jan. 22.
