Texas A&M hoping big bodies at defensive tackle finally leads to big production

Since Texas A&M joined the SEC in 2012, one constant struggle for Kevin Sumlin and the Aggies has been finding guys who can shoulder the load at defensive tackle.

But in 2017, that problem might actually shift from “Who do we put on the field?” to “How do we find playing time for all of our guys?”

It’s no longer a position of weakness; it might be one of the team’s biggest strengths.

In the Aggies’ inaugural SEC season, A&M relied heavily on undersized senior Spencer Nealy, who was listed at 6 feet 3 and 275 pounds but probably was closer to 260 by the season’s end.
