LSU lawsuit against Texas A&M's John Chavis must be held before a jury, says Louisiana judge

LSU's lawsuit against John Chavis is going to be decided by a jury, according to The Advocate.

The decision on this lawsuit, which LSU brought forth back in February 2015, was made by a Baton Rouge state judge. Chavis, the former LSU defensive coordinator current Aggie coach, signed a three-year deal with the Tigers after the 2011 season.

"[Chavis' lead attorney Jill] Craft argued during the hearing -- the first in the contentious case since LSU head coach Les Miles was fired Sept. 25 -- that Chavis' three-year deal, which stipulated he would owe LSU a $400,000 buyout if he left the school before Jan.
