Florida flew under the radar for much of the 2017 season. The Gators have been a perennial college baseball power, but the offense didn’t seem to be enough to earn them their first College World Series title in school history. They haven’t locked anything up yet, but now they’re one win away from the fabled Omaha dog pile.

Both of these squads made it to the championship series by riding a pair of dominant starting pitchers. Even with Alex Faedo and Jared Poche unavailable on Monday the rest of both staffs were expected to keep the contest a low scoring affair.
