Four-star linebacker Santino Marchiol committed to Texas A&M in June and took his official visit to College Station earlier this month. He saw A&M beat Tennessee 45-38 in double-overtime, and the visit reassured him.
“That’s the spot for me,” Marchiol told GN. “The players, the atmosphere, the people and the coaching staff — College Station is an unbelievable place.”
Marchiol (6 feet 2, 222 pounds) attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., after transferring in from Cherry Creek, Colo, in the Denver suburbs. He is one of the top-20 inside linebacker prospects in the class of 2017 and a top-300 overall prospect.
