COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M, 45-11 on the season, figured it had done enough to earn one of the coveted eight national seeds of the NCAA baseball tournament. Apparently not, instead the Aggies must settle for being one of 16 teams playing host to a regional.
The first-seeded Aggies will face fourth-seeded Texas Southern (31-17) starting 6 p.m. Friday at Blue Bell Park. The regional also includes second-seeded Coastal Carolina and third-seeded California, which play noon Friday at Blue Bell Park.
