Tennessee and Nebraska will face off in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium in Nashville on December 30.
The No. 21 Volunteers (8-4) were widely viewed as an SEC and national championship contender before the season, but they fell far short of expectations. After a thrilling 5-0 start to its season, Tennessee went 4-3 the rest of the way, including losses to South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
The Huskers (9-3) started 7-0 before tailing off with losses to Wisconsin, Ohio State and Iowa.
Tennessee and Nebraska will be meeting for the third time in history, with the Huskers winning on both previous occasions (in the 1998 Orange Bowl and the 2000 Fiesta Bowl).
