This is really no surprise, but we now have official confirmation. Tennessee football’s opening game against Georgia Tech will be a primetime match-up on ESPN.
The network released its college football schedule on Thursday for the opening week, with the Vols set to face the Yellow Jackets on Monday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. E.T.
The game will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, the second game of the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic.
Although the game is in Georgia Tech’s backyard, Tennessee football fans are all over the Atlanta area, as Knoxville is three hours away.
