It was the second time in a span of 20 years that Tennessee football ended a frustrating losing streak to the Florida Gators.
The last time the Vols ended a streak so notorious, they went on to win the national championship because of the confidence it gave them.
There has already been talk about that this year because of how elusive that Florida win has been. But of course, Tennessee has to focus on the next game before looking that far ahead.
Still, beating the Gators removes a huge monkey off the backs of Tennessee. This was the one game that the Vols had to get if they wanted to take the next step as a program under Butch Jones.
