As we know, conference expansion is part of college football. After the SEC announced its expansion to 14 teams in 2011, everybody knew that it was only a matter of time before they reached 16 teams.
We haven’t gotten to that point yet, but a proposed law in North Carolina a couple of weeks ago that would’ve pulled UNC and N.C. State out of the ACC because of the conference’s boycott over the state’s bathroom law once again sparked the conversation of conference realignment.
Seriously, stop there for a second.
Some uber-religious North Carolina lawmakers are so obsessed over regulating which bathroom you can use that they’d severely damage the primary fundraisers of their two largest four-year public colleges.
