Report: Tennessee hires ex-NFL staffer Eric Lewis as quality control assistant

Tennessee reportedly hired Eric Lewis as a defensive quality control assistant on Friday.

247Sports.com reported the news. Lewis served as Georgia State’s secondary coach the past two seasons, and has been a defensive coordinator at FCS program Weber State and Eastern Michigan. He also has NFL experience, having spent the 2006 and ’07 seasons as defensive quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers

During his first season, Lewis guided Georgia State to a school record for interceptions (15) and pass breakups (57). While at Eastern Michigan, Lewis’ unit led the nation in pass defense during the 2009 season.
