Quinten Dormady named Tennessee backup quarterback

It’s no secret that Josh Dobbs is going to be Tennessee’s starting quarterback this year. Dobbs started all 13 games for the Volunteers last year and is backed heavily by the staff and fans.

The only quarterback questions the Vols had entering this season was who the backup quarterback would end up being.

Tennessee coach Butch Jones answered that question Tuesday.

Jones announced that sophomore Quinten Dormady will be the team’s backup quarterback entering the Vols’ Sept. 1 season opener against Appalachian State.

“Quinten Dormady is one snap away,” Jones said. “I thought he had his best practice of the day yesterday.
