Dual-threat Connecticut QB commits to Tennessee

Class of 2017 quarterback CJ Lewis has committed to Tennessee.

Lewis, a three-star recruit, announced his decision Saturday on Twitter.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 40 dual-threat quarterback by 247Sports, the 6-foot-3.5, 205-pound Lewis chose Tennessee over offers from Boston College, Connecticut and Buffalo. He made his commitment two days after receiving an offer from the Volunteers.

Lewis, who is from Cheshire, Connecticut, previously visited Tennessee for its spring game in April and also attended a camp at the school in June.

Lewis’ commitment marks Tennessee’s fifth in the past week alone, joining twin brothers and defensive tackles Breyon and Brandon Gaddy, three-star cornerback CJ Cotman, and three-star wide receiver Jordan Murphy.
