Bristol Motor Speedway readies for Tennessee-Virginia Tech clash

Less than a day after NASCAR pulled its haulers out of Bristol Motor Speedway, the track’s conversion for the Tennessee-Virginia Tech football game began.

Make way for the #BattleAtBristol.

Ahead of the Volunteers meeting the Hokies on September 10, course workers are changing Bristol from a half-mile asphalt racetrack to a 100-yard grass track for a different type of high-octane action.

And the pictures of the conversion, as captured on Twitter, are stunning.

The Bristol Motor Speedway has fired up the “Construction Cam,” giving fans a live look at the progress.

ALERT: The @PilotFlyingJ #BattleAtBristol Construction Cam is active!
