It’s no surprise: Whether it’s on the football field or in the salary rankings, the SEC ranks near the top of the list.
Alabama’s Nick Saban heads a group of four SEC coaches who rank in the top nine in the country in annual salaries. The list is compiled annually by USA Today.
Along with Saban, whose salary of $6,939,395 ranks second in the nation, Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin (seventh), Auburn coach Gus Malzahn (eighth) and Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze (ninth) rank inside the top 10. The rest of the top 10 contains three coaches from the Big Ten, two from the Big 12 and one from the ACC.
