Tennessee Coaching Rumors: Why Charlie Strong is the best pick

After the few disastrous seasons of Derrick Dooley at Tennessee the Volunteers have rightfully decided to move on and find a new coach for their formerly prestigious football program.

While many candidates have been rumors for the position, Louisville's Charlie Strong should be the top candidate for the Vols.

Strong has coached for 21 years in the SEC, mostly as a defensive coordinator for South Carolina, and understands what it means to play big boy football in the south.

Additionally, Strong took a very mediocre Louisville football program that was 15-21 under their former coach Steve Kragthorpe and made into a 9-1 team that will most likely be a BCS contendor this year.

After a dismal few seasons under Dooley, look for the Vols to make a full court press on Strong. He is their man if they want to turn this program around for the better.
