Alex Faedo is the Frog-killer, as once again he mystified the TCU bats, silencing an offense that had exploded for nine runs just 24 hours ago. Though he wasn’t nearly as sharp as Sunday night, he was just as effective, limiting the Frogs to three hits and striking out 11 in 7.1 shutout frames.
TCU’s Jared Janczak started strong, retiring the first three batters he faced with ease, including a pair of strikeouts. But the Gators are like an itch you can’t scratch, hanging around and driving you nuts until they finally get you screaming. The Gators got on the board in the second, as they went double-single-fielder’s choice to take the early lead.
