FRISCO -- Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby is getting pretty good at making a case for the quality of football in his conference.
It looks like he will be getting a chance to do it for a while longer, with a pending contract extension through 2024-25.
In his State of the Conference address to kick off media days Monday, Bowlsby did his best to deflect the league's 1 for 3 showing so far in the College Football Playoff. Oklahoma in 2015 is the only team to reach the semifinals.
"It gets a little tiresome because I know we play at a very high level, and I know that top to bottom we're the best in the country in terms of balance," Bowlsby said, offering an assessment that will attract attention.
