REPORT: TCU Hires Pitt Head Coach Jamie Dixon As New Basketball Coach

The TCU Horned Frogs have reportedly hired Pitt Panthers head coach Jamie Dixon as their new head coach. CBS Sports first reported the hire.

Dixon is an alumnus of TCU, which likely played a big role in him leaving Pittsburgh. In 13 years at the helm of the Panthers, Dixon posted a 328-123 record. He won at least 20 games in every season but one.

It's a great hire for TCU, a program that hasn't won 20 games since the 2004-05 season and hasn't made the NCAA Tournament since 1998. TCU fired head coach Trent Johnson after a 12-21 season this year. He had one winning season in four years.

The Panthers will now search for a new head coach after making the NCAA Tournament this year and for the 11th time under Dixon.
