Please, St. Petersburg, don't make same baseball error twice

When city council members in St. Petersburg scuttled a plan last year to let the Tampa Bay Rays look around the area for a new stadium, at least they had a rational argument.

Like it or not — and the lack of baseball fans at Tropicana Field is compelling evidence that people don’t — the Rays have a lease with the city until 2027. While it was frustrating to see talks about a new home stalled because of legalese, at least there was solid reasoning behind it.
