Lightning defenseman Stralman 'not near ready'

BRANDON, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Anton Stralman skated on his own prior to the team’s practice Friday, but he’s not expected back anytime soon.

Stralman, 29, has been sidelined since March 25 with a broken left fibula.

“He’s not near ready, yet,” said Lightning coach Jon Cooper after practice.

Fellow defenseman Matt Carle and with forwards J.T. Brown and Mike Blunden are listed as day-to-day, according to Cooper. Captain Steven Stamkos, who is recovering from surgery to remove a blood clot near his collarbone on April 4, did not practice on Friday.
