The Tampa Bay Lightning stood their ground in a close battle against one of the Western Conference's tougher teams, capturing their third straight win.
The Lightning knew the Los Angeles Kings would be a competitive opponent heading into Wednesday night’s game. The final score proved it as regulation wasn't enough to decide a winner. Coming down to the shootout, Jonathan Marchessault and Valtteri Filppula both put the puck past Jonathan Quick as Tampa Bay went on to win 2-1.
As the Lightning skated away in the winner's circle, it certainly didn't come easy.
