Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has been the subject of trade rumors in advance of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline. However, any talks surrounding the Bucs halfback may have just come to an abrupt halt.

Per Josh Alper of NBC's Pro Football Talk, Martin left Sunday's game in the third quarter "and the Bucs are calling him questionable to return because of an ankle injury. Martin had run for 27 yards on 10 carries before getting hurt as part of an underwhelming performance by the Tampa offense."

Bobby Rainey is likely to take over as the team's lead running back in Martin's absence. No official word on the severity of the injury has been released to the press as of this writing.

Stay tuned.
