Since arriving in New York Jets camp, former Syracuse Orange wide receiver Brisly Estime had been making a strong case to make the roster as a punt returner — his biggest strength while a member of the Orange.
However, that idea was derailed on Thursday due to some very unfortunate news.
Rookie PR Brisly Estime tore Achilles' tendon yesterday in practice. Terrible break. Had a chance as a punt returner. Will go to IR. #Jets

As ESPN’s Rich Cimini mentions, Estime did have a chance to make the roster as a punt returner, so this is terrible to see for an undrafted player.
