Sunderland dealt another managerial blow as Nigel Pearson rules himself out to succeed David Moyes

Nigel Pearson has ruled himself out of the running for vacant manager's job at Sunderland.

The 53-year-old, who won the Championship and League One as manager of Leicester City, has been touted as a candidate to succeed David Moyes but will not be pushing for the role.

Sunderland held talks with Aberdeen's Derek McInnes earlier this month while Preston North End's Simon Grayson has also been considered.
