Sunderland manager David Moyes has confirmed to talkSPORT that young forward Duncan Watmore has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a knee ligament injury.
The 22-year-old suffered the problem in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Leicester City following a collision with Foxes defender Christian Fuchs, and left the field on a stretcher.
England Under-21s star Watmore had started 11 Premier League this season, and his injury is another blow to Moyes' Black Cats squad, having already lost defender Paddy McNair, captain Lee Cattermole and midfielder Lynden Gooch.
