Former Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has been listed among the favourites for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.
The 34-year-old has received praise for his support for late Black Cats fan Bradley Lowery, who tragically passed away earlier this month after fighting neuroblastoma.
Defoe, who joined Bournemouth from Sunderland after the club were relegated, befriended the seriously ill youngster as he battled the cancer.
The six-year-old captured the hearts of people around the world during his final months.
