David Moyes reveals Leicester interest before Claudio Ranieri took charge: 'I never saw them getting into position they got into... but I've no regrets'

David Moyes has revealed that he could have taken charge of champions Leicester City before Claudio Ranieri was appointed last summer but feared they would be fighting relegation.

The Sunderland boss was managing La Liga outfit Real Sociedad when he was approached and asked if he would be interested in talking to the Foxes, who had just sacked Nigel Pearson.

Moyes, whose side entertain Leicester on Saturday afternoon, said: 'I was asked after Nigel Pearson left and before Claudio came in. I was asked if I would be interested but I'd made my mind up that I wanted to manage abroad and I wanted to stay in Spain.
