Appalachian State landed its 17th commit for the 2018 class in three-star outside linebacker Brock Mattison out of Buford, Georgia. Mattison is the fourth Mountaineer commit at his position and the second highest rated behind Zarion Hayes according to 247 Sports.
Mattison currently holds 23 offers so far. He chose Appalachian State over Colorado State, Western Michigan, Georgia Southern and Troy among others.
App State has had great success recruiting the state of Georgia, with Mattison being the Mountaineer’s seventh commit from the Peach State. Head coach Scott Satterfield and co. have also done a good job of fending off Colorado State’s southeast-heavy recruiting push, having four commits from players holding offers from the Rams.
