The Stanford Cardinal will face the Maryland Terrapins in the Foster Farms Bowl in Santa Clara, CA on December 30.
This bid isn't a surprise for Stanford, who was the favorite out of the Pac-12 with their campus just minutes from Levi's Stadium. They will head to the Foster Farms Bowl after a disappointing season that saw them finish 7-5 a year after representing the Pac-12 in the Rose Bowl.
Maryland will take one of the longest trips of any team this bowl season, as they make the trek all the way out to California's Bay Area. The drastic difference in travel should favor Stanford, but the Terps also posted a 7-5 record coming out of a stacked Big Ten conference.
This will be the first ever meeting between these schools.
