3 Potential New Stanford Football Starters That Will Become Household Names In 2015

The Stanford Cardinal have plenty to look forward to in 2015 with QB Kevin Hogan returning and a defense with a host of young talented pieces just waiting to step up. To get you ready for the full swing of spring practices, here's 3 Potential New Stanford Football Starters That Will Become Household Names In 2015.

LB Peter Kalambayi

Here's your new defensive star for the Cardinal. Kalambayi posted 6.5 sacks in limited playing time in 2014, and will likely slide into the role vacated by former four-year starter James Vaughters on the outside. If and when that happens, Kalambayi will immediately become one of the team's most consistently dangerous pass rushers.

WR Michael Rector

Rector is just plain fast. Without Ty Montgomery in the picture, Kevin Hogan's throws to wide receivers not named Devon Cajuste will likely be spread between Rector and continue project Francis Owusu early on. Expect Rector's speed to slowly earn him more targets and more trust as a home-run threat in the vertical passing game.

CB Terrence Alexander

Alexander is impressing so far in limited camp action, showcasing natural route-reading instincts and on-the-ball savvyness. Stanford's cornerback corps has been hammered by a litany of departures, so the rising sophomore has a very good chance to win a starting role and take a major leap in 2015.
