ST. LOUIS -- Yadier Molina helped Lance Lynn out of a bases-loaded mess in the oddest of ways Friday when he shot a throw down to third base to catch Eugenio Suarez straying too far from the base.
Suarez had just jogged to third after Devin Mesoraco worked a nine-pitch walk to fill the bases with two out in the sixth. But instead of throwing the ball back to Lynn, Molina held it, eyed Suarez and threw to third baseman Jedd Gyorko, who had crept up behind the Reds' third baseman.
