Molina, Fowler homer as Leake (six innings) blanks Marlins

JUPITER, Fla. • Yadier Molina’s homecoming to the Cardinals was a notable one on Sunday.

The star of the silver medalist Puerto Rican team in the recent World Baseball Classic celebrated his first game back with the Cardinals by banging his first spring training homer of the season.

Molina also had a single and liner to shortstop as the Cardinals beat the Miami Marlins 3-0. Dexter Fowler scored the other two St. Louis runs on his first homer of the spring and on a sacrifice fly by Matt Carpenter.

Mike Leake turned in the longest outing by a Cardinals starter this spring _ and his best _ when he blanked the Marlins for six innings, scattering seven hits and needing only 74 pitches.
