Well, I never thought I’d admit this.
But last winter, there was so much talk about the top of the Cards’ lineup, I tried to write a rap song. Well, rewrite an old one to make it “You down wit’ O.B.P.?”
It was … bad:
Dexter, Aledmys and Carp get on base all the time
They make the defense shift like a paradigm
And then they’ll get on base for Stephen Piscotty
Who’s tougher than a bite of a day-old biscotti
No, I know. Abysmal.
But remember where I was coming from — the whole town was abuzz about Dexter Fowler joining Aledmys Diaz and Matt Carpenter.
