JUPITER, Fla. • A short time after Yadier Molina had hit his first exhibition homer of this spring, Dexter Fowler ripped his first, also off Miami Marlins lefthander Wei-Yin Chen.
That second homer, with one out in the third, gave the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.
MOLINA HOMERS IN HOMECOMING
Yadier Molina, on the third pitch he saw after rejoining the Cardinals from the World Baseball Classic, drilled his first homer of the exhibition season over the left-field wall to give the Cardinals a 1-0 exhibition lead Sunday over Miami.
Molina, the star of the runner-up Puerto Rican team, nearly clipped on-deck hitter Stephen Piscotty with a foul ball on Chen’s first pitch to him as Molina tried to stop his swing.
