When the pregame lineup is posted in the Cardinals' clubhouse before every game, Randal Grichuk usually isn't looking at what number comes before his name.
"As long as I’m in the lineup, I’m pretty happy," he said.
The center fielder, who appeared at No. 8 in the batting order behind Jason Heyward on Tuesday, has bounced around the lineup all season. He hit leadoff last week. He wound up at the No. 9 spot Monday after pinch-hitting. He's even shuffled around the outfield positions.
And although that No. 8 was next to his name on Tuesday's lineup, Grichuk sure didn't swing like a No.
