Blues sign former 1st rounder Scott Upshall to a 2-way, 1-year deal.

The Blues add to their collection of underwhelming former 1st round picks by signing Upshall. The 2-way contract is worth $700K in the NHL and $200K in the AHL.

It is the signing you've all been waiting for. The big roster move that will make the difference this season for the Blues. Yes indeed...the Blues have landed big name forward Scottie Upshall to the roster.

Maybe I exaggerate a bit.

The former Predator/Coyote/Flyer/Panther/Blue Jacket was a better than point-per-game offensive force in the WHL and went 6th overall in 2002. But the first rounder-turned-jouneyman never managed to translate those skills into offensive success at the NHL level with his current career high in goals being 18 and points being 37.
