More than three years after playing his last game in the NHL, former Blue Chris Pronger was traded to the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday. And Monday, he’s expected to receive a call from the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Though Pronger is guilty of no wrongdoing, both the trade and his early enshrinement have created a bit of a stir around the league.
Some creative maneuvering around the NHL’s salary-cap system led to Arizona’s acquisition of the defenseman from Philadelphia, and a recent change in the Hall of Fame by-laws will speed up his induction process.
Pronger, 40, won’t be going to Arizona, of course.
