Sporting KC Academy Member Jaylin Lindsey Gets Call To U.S. U-17 National Team

One of Sporting KC's academy players is getting the call to the United States Under-17 National Team. Jaylin Lindsey, a 16-year-old defenseman, will play for the US National Team in AIFF Youth Cup in Goa, India. The move was announced by Sporting KC Wednesday.

Lindsey plays for the Swope Park Rangers, a United Soccer League club owned by Sporting KC. Lindsey joined Sporting KC in January 2015. He kept his college eligibility by signing an academy deal earlier this week. He's appeared in one game so far for the Rangers.

This is not Lindsey's first appearance with the national team. He's played with the U-14s, U-15s, and U-15s before.

The AIFF Youth Cup runs from May 11th to the 25th, meaning Lindsey could miss some time for the Rangers. Lindsey is one of 23 players on the US roster.
