Chase Whitehead walked off the field at the Alamodome in San Antonio last week with mixed emotions.

“I was pretty down about losing,” said the redshirt sophomore receiver who joined the Golden Eagles during the offseason as a Division I transfer from South Florida. “I hate losing.”
However, Whitehead made the first start of his Golden Eagle career against the Roadrunners and caught the first touchdown pass of his collegiate career. In all, he caught three passes for 63 yards. Adding a nice touch on the personal side of things for the Fort Walton Beach, Florida, native, several family members were on hand to watch him play.
