Southern Miss and Mississippi State brokered a deal this week that will send the Golden Eagles to Starkville on Sept. 7, 2019.
Mississippi State has agreed to pay Southern Miss the guaranteed sum of $1.2 million, according to a copy of the game contract the Hattiesburg American obtained Friday via open records request.
It is one of the largest guaranteed payouts Southern Miss has received since 2014, exceeded only by the team’s future games at Auburn ($1.7 million for Sept. 29, 2018, and $1.85 million for Sept.
