USM assistant coach headed to Oklahoma St.

Southern Miss wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator John Wozniak has accepted the running backs coach job at Oklahoma State.

Tulsa radio station, The Franchise 107.7-FM, first reported the news Monday evening. Wozniak confirmed the report to the Hattiesburg American.

Wozniak spent four seasons on the Golden Eagles' coaching staff, from 2013-15 under former head coach Todd Monken and 2016 under current Southern Miss coach Jay Hopson. Prior to Southern Miss' Heart of Dallas Bowl appearance in December 2015, Monken named Wozniak offensive coordinator to replace Chip Lindsey. Following Monken's departure in January 2016 to become the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offensive coordinator, Hopson retained Wozniak in his initial role as wide receivers coach and special teams coordinator.
